After October 7th 2023, I found myself creating art as a way to reconnect — to my identity, my Judaism, and the deep roots of my heritage. It felt like my people were reliving history: hatred for who we are, for our faith, our identity. I lost friends and family members. In the midst of the pain, the grief, the shock — there was only one way I could escape the unbearable reality: through art. While still in uniform, serving my country — between sirens and brief days of rest — I would sit quietly and create. Pieces made of olive wood, resin, silver, and gold. Pieces that spoke of the land beneath me, of memory, strength, and belonging. My art became my healing. At first, it was only for me. But soon, others began to see their own stories reflected in the work.
